The restaurant, whose name is a combination of three words: bistro / gastronomy / economic, is Chef Martial Noguier’s long-time dream come to fruition; to create a contemporary bistro that is both approachable and affordable.

Bistronomic’s delicious menu items – composed from seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients – include expertly prepared items like Ahi Tuna Tartare, Housemade Country Pate, Organic Amish Chicken and, of course, the Grilled Cheese Du Jour.  A unique menu option also includes the opportunity to order cans or jars, such as a Can of Sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Vinegar or a Jar of Picholine Green Olives or Caviar.

The fully stocked bar features imported spirits and an assortment of vivacious cocktails. Bistronomic also offers a wine selection, primarily French and Californian labels, with many selections available by the glass.

The restaurant’s chic, contemporary décor showcases vibrant creams, reds and browns and architectural themed accents. During the summer months, Bistronomic invites guests to dine al fresco on its stylish and luxurious patio, situated in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Bistronomic is located approximately one block west of Magnificent Mile shopping. The restaurant is open for lunch, weekend brunch and dinner. Reservations are handled exclusively through Open Table and are strongly recommended.

Martial Noguier, Executive Chef/Owner

Martial_Noguier_bistronomicMartial Noguier, Executive Chef/Owner of Bistronomic, brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to the modern gastronomic bistro located in the heart of Chicago’s notable Gold Coast neighborhood.

Originally hailing from Paris, France, Chef Noguier worked for a number of French chefs before coming to the United States. He continued to gain experience while serving as Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine for various prestigious hotels and fine-dining establishments such as Patina in California and Citronelle at the Latham Hotel in Washington D.C. before relocating to Chicago.

Prior to his position at Bistronomic, Noguier served as Executive Chef and Corporate Chef at the venerable Pump Room in the Omni Ambassador East hotel as well Executive Chef roles at one sixtyblue and Café de Architectes at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower Hotel. Under his tutelage, one sixtyblue was named the “Best Restaurant of 2006” by the Chicago Sun-Times, and he received additional accolades from esteemed local media, including the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine, and North Shore Magazine. While at the Sofitel in 2009, Chef Noguier was honored as “Chef of the Year” by Chicago Social magazine and received his first James Beard Foundation Award nomination among other recognition.

Chef/Owner Martial Noguier’s long-time dream came to fruition in February of 2011 with the opening of Bistronomic, which was received with wide acclaim. He created a contemporary bistro that was both approachable and affordable. The restaurant was quickly deemed the “Best New Restaurant” by Chicago magazine and the Chicago Tribune. Chef Noguier earned his second James Beard Foundation Award nomination for “Best Chef Great Lakes” and Bistronomic was nominated in the “Best New Restaurant” category. Michelin’s Bib Gourmand recognition was also awarded to Bistronomic for three years.

Q. Do you offer valet service?
A. Yes, valet service is provided by KGM Prestige Services and available during brunch, lunch and dinner.  Rates: 3 hours is $14, 5 hours is $18, 8 hours is $20, overnight is $40.

Q. Is Bistronomic wheelchair accessible?
A. Yes, all of the dining rooms at Bistronomic are wheelchair accessible.

Q. May we bring our own dessert?
A. Yes, however we charge $3 per diner for cutting/plating.

Q. Is there a dress code?
A. No, we encourage you to dress for your occasion.

Q. Do you have private dining/offer private parties?

Q. Do you have a reservation policy?
A. Reservations are strongly recommended. For “prime-time” slots (7-9 p.m.), especially on weekends, we recommend that you book 2-3 weeks in advance. For groups of 8 or more, a credit card is required to hold the table. Only complete parties will be seated.

Q. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
A. With advance notice, we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Without advance notice, options are extremely limited for vegetarians/vegans. The menu can be adapted for allergies to lactose, gluten, shellfish and nuts as well.

Q. Do you offer gift certificates?
A. Yes, we offer gift certificates in increments of $25. You are welcome to purchase them directly in the restaurant, or call us at 312.944.8400. We are more than happy to mail them out for you. Please allow 3-5 days for delivery.
